In order to run ADB commands, you need a computer or laptop. Another thing is USB debugging must be enabled on Android. Now, follow the steps for how to switch off an Android phone without the power button.

1. Open Settings on Android.

2. Tap on About phone> tap Build number or Model number for 7 times until you get a message saying “You’re a developer now.”

3. Next, navigate to Settings> Developer option> USB Debugging.

4. Now, take a USB cable and connect your Android phone with a laptop or PC. Once done, you see a notification saying USB debugging is connected.

5. Download the latest Andorid SDK Platform tools for Windows or set up ADB and Fastboot on Mac.

6. Open Windows Command Prompt or Mac Terminal.

7. Type these commands:

adb devices (on Windows)

./adb devices (on Mac)

8. Now, enter the following ADB command to turn off your Android phone. 

adb shell reboot -p
