New student-designed system tracks firefighters, special forces

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The old technique of using push pins and maps to track troop movements just got a radical new upgrade for soldiers or firefighters in rugged terrains. TrackStick
TrackStick is a GPS tracking device, it tracks your location and saves it in its internal 1 MB memory. TrackStick’s horizontal accuracy is 49 feets (15 meters) and vertical 72 feets (22 meters). This way you can track anybody you care about or monitor somebody. Read the rest of this entry »
